The week after a Major is always a bit of a come donw, and that is especially true after the first of the year, the U.S Masters. After the excitement and drama of the three way play off at Augusta it was always going to be a tough ask to keep golfers interested the following week.
And The Winner Is…Brian Who?
Well…he’s the guy who has just destroyed the rest of the field at the Verizon Heritage Open at Hilton Head Island, SC. It is rare for a player to win by double digits and that is exactly what Gay did on Sunday. By closing with a 64 he finished 10 strokes ahead of his nearest rival to record the biggest winning margin in a tour event since 2006.
The win was Gay’s second on tour, and has earned himself a cool million dollar pay day as well as an exemption to next years Masters where he will make his debut.
